Parent Leadership Needed Welcome back to our returning families and welcome to La Mesa for those of you that are new. We are looking forward to a new school year, in-person! In order to ensure a fantastic year, we need to partner with parents. One important way we do this is through our Parent Advisory Council (PAC). This is our parent-led organization that ensures parents have a voice, are informed, and supports us in raising money for La Mesa to supplement things needed for our students and classrooms. The positions we have available for next year on our board are: President Secretary Treasurer Other roles include: Auditor Membership District Advisory Council Representative (Meets monthly with district admin) Parent Communication Council Representative (Meets monthly with district admin) In the past our PAC has supported La Mesa with funds for field trips, classroom supplies, lunch tables, our mural, and teacher appreciation week. The PAC has also hosted important events and speakers to help educate parents and ensure you are all equipped to support your child academically and social-emotionally during the middle grades. The middle school years are not when parents should step back. We need you to step up and stay involved. Your voice matters. Your leadership matters. There is a place on the form to express that interest as well. Summer Check-in will be held August 2nd and 3rd from 1pm-5pm.
